Ellon Academy Community Campus

I B Services were tasked with installing and calibrating the Smart Lightraise 60wi2 interactive projectors, Epson ceiling mounted projectors and electric screens as well as a onelan digital signage system for the new Ellon Academy Community Campus, in Aberdeenshire.

The works involved the installation taking place on a live building site. This presented challenges such as keeping the projectors clean and dust free.

With the majority of the interactive projectors being installed on ‘teaching walls’. This meant we had to work closely with the furniture company to ensure the projectors had a solid structure to be fitted against.

The installation went smoothly and we met a very tight deadline for the school opening.

The Smart Lightraise projectors need precision and accuracy to work to their full ability. Each interactive projector was calibrated to the highest 4 star level of calibration by our installers. At 87 projectors, this is the biggest installation of Light Raise projectors in Europe. The second biggest installation was also carried out by I B Services at Mearns Academy.

The Epson EB-x20 Projectors and electric screens were installed in the art department. Suspending the screens away from the wall allowed shelving to be installed behind the screen to allow maximum storage around the room. These were fully remote controlled and care was taken to ensure each image filled the screen.

The final part of the job was to install several LG 55inch displays in communal areas to display school information through the use of a onelan system. This system allows the school to easily change the displays for staff and students to see important information each day.
